Copyright Troll Malibu Media files 6 new lawsuits in Middle District of Florida

Malibu Media, LLC, filed six new copyright infringment lawsuits in the United States District Court, Middle District of Florida, on Tuesday, May 15, 2012.  The complaints allege that each “John Doe” defendant installed a BitTorrent Client, such as uTorrent or Vuze, onto his or her computer, and went to a torrent website, such as TorrentZap, Btscene, ExtraTorrent, or Pirate Bay, to download the company’s copyrighted works.

The Middle District of Florida is by no means virgin territory to Malibu Media.  The company, which is based in California, has pending a total of 14 lawsuits pending in this district, including the new suits.  Four of the new lawsuits were filed in Tampa, one in Fort Myers, and one in Jacksonville.  Feel free to take a look at one of the new Malibu Media complaints here.
